This is a reality series about a handful of young American athletes who cling to that dream despite the odds. These are players who don’t think they can make it – they know they can make it. All they need is a shot and America’s Next Sports Star is giving it to them.

My nephew is one of the contestants. His name is Jaime Sowers and I need you to watch the show and vote for him. I wrote earlier about him on the blog and his dream to play in the NBA. This kid has skills!
I am not just saying this because I’m partial because he is my nephew. I have watched him over the years and he needs an opportunity to use what God has so graciously blessed him with; the ability to play basketball.

This is a National call to action. I need your support for my nephew, Jamie Sowers. This kid is awesome! I am not saying it because he is my nephew, I’m saying this because he is the “Truth”. This kid has skills that will run circles around some of those in the NBA right now. Matter of fact he played against Tyson Chandler during an AAU tournament and beat him out for the MVP trophy. Now that’s whatz up! We need you to help him get the contract he should have had long ago. My thought is that it took my Mother, Louise Sowers, his Grandmother to die this June for him to get the hunger back to do the damn thing. Help a young black man, who is well deserving of a chance to become part of an NBA team.
