HBO Special, The Lazarus Effect…Bikers we take so much for granted

You are either affected or infected with HIV/AIDS

As I watched this short documentary it moved me to tears. My tears weren’t completely from empathy for my people who are suffering with AIDS/HIV; It was from guilt. My guilt was from bitching, complaining, feeling sorry for myself when things don’t go my way over the most simplest thing.

I encourage all bikers; I don’t care what color you are, to become more conscious of what’s happening around the world with those who are suffering the most. Be grateful for the little things in life because there are several million in Africa that would trade places with you any day.

This is a subject that we never address in the motorcycle community. With all of the sex, drugs and rock n’ roll that bikers partake in. The topic of AIDS/HIV is never discussed or mentioned. I honestly believe there are bikers that are heterosexual who have tested positive but won’t talk about it or even inform others to prevent the spread of the virus in our community.

THE LAZARUS EFFECT follows the story of people in Africa with HIV/AIDS who go from near death to health in as few as 40 days if they gain access to the 2 lifesaving pills that cost around 40 cents a day.

Take 35 minutes of your time to watch this and I hope that this video moves you to act in a more sensitive way to your fellow man. We are truly blessed. Let’s band together and contribute to help save a life of someone who you may never meet. They need us!

I got one question for my black biker brothers. Have you ever got your penis stuck in a pipe?

This story is on Current:

There’s no tactful way to relate this story, so here it is: A UK man got his penis so horribly stuck inside of a steel pipe Tuesday that it took seven firefighters and a metal grinder to get it out. The man had initially been rushed to a hospital, but doctors were unable to remove the pipe because restricted blood flow had caused the penis to become too aroused, the Sun reports.

It took firefighters 30 minutes to cut the pipe off, leaving the penis within bruised and swollen, but otherwise unharmed. “It was a very delicate operation that required a very steady hand,” said one fireman. “It’s certainly an unusual call-out and I’m sure the man won’t be getting into that situation again.” The 40-year-old wouldn’t say how he’d gotten into the situation in the first place. In related news, Newser now has a “Less Gossip” button, and yes, using it would have spared you this.
