I received a comment that asked about the exhibit that showed at the Los Angeles African American Museum called “Black Chrome”. I know there are several of you out there that weren’t aware of an exhibit. Black Chrome gave you a taste of our rich history as black bikers and black motorcycle clubs. It displayed the leathery intricacies that depict the fabric of being a black biker or a black motorcycle club from WWII until today. It was in fact the very first exhibit of its kind.
The exhibit moved on and was brought to Oakland California. The African American Museum & Library at Oakland was where it was shown. The name of the exhibit was changed to, “Breezin’ on Two Wheels” brought to Oakland by the African American Bikers. The exhibit is no longer in Oakland it stopped on October 31, 2009. I got word from the Curator in Los Angeles that it is going to New York.
If you’d like it to come to a Museum near you hit me up and let me know.
I will keep you informed of when and where the exhibit will appear.

I miss the biker days reminiscent of the psychedelic 60’s with glasses of Electric Kool-Aid and the ever powerful 70’s when they did puff, puff, pass and eat every damn thing in the house. Let’s not forget the 80’s when powder came and changed the game with little afterthought of whether the light might go away and all be lost and taken into darkness. I don’t want everything in this dream of counterrevolutionary black power, Black Panther, radical black bikers to go away, in fact it seems to be doomed to end. The unfortunate thing is that the faithless, money-driven world is controlling all the lives it feels entitled to touch, fondle and molest. Most of us have become victims and prey to this. It has consumed the black bike community, the world in fact and I don’t want to accept it. Let’s go back to the way things were when we would ride and pound like there was no tomorrow, free so free like the stories we hear about going home to Glory to the great by and by.
When Brotherhood was thicker than blood and you never had a second thought if your club brothers and sisters would be there for you from the beginning to the end. These are things I learned from the OG’s on the set back in Cali. I desperately want this attitude to surface in this new black biker world we live in. Back then they rode their motorcycles free, free from all the control and unnecessary pressures we seem to get ourselves caught up in today.
This is the definition of brotherhood: A friendship unlike any other, built out of respect and love, will always have each others backs. A group who are close and will do anything for each other no matter what time of day or night it is.[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCmCrXok0gQ] A group who work together to make sure they are fair to all, no big “I’s” or little “U’s”. A bond between two or more men or women, not always related by blood. They always tell the truth, honor each other, and love each other like sisters and brothers in other words a family.
